I am 7 months old!!!

Our sweet little Ford is 7 months old and we are having more fun then ever with him! He is full of energy and has a very silly and wild personalitly. He keeps us laughing and melts our heart with his sweet little smile. Here are some facts about Ford at 7 months.

*He still loves to eat and has fruits and vegetables two times a day and still takes 4 bottles a day
*He takes 2 two hour naps a day. He just went from 3 naps to 2 naps just after he turned 6 months
*He has not been a very good sleeper at night in the past month. We were trying to transition out of his swaddle, and haven't been very successful. Needless to say we are back in the swaddle
* He is very active, but isn't trying to crawl just yet
*He loves his hands! Loves looking at them, sucking on them and moving them as fast as he can!
*He loves to laugh, smile, fake cough, scream and grunt really loud, take baths, watch Baby Einstein and listen to music (especially this ACDC baby lullaby CD)
*He is so sweet and loves to smile at people even strangers
*He can say "mamma", but usually when he is fussing or when he is tired
* He loves to be outside and watch Cooper run around

Here is sweet Ford at 7 months

Our little creamy baby!!!

Weekend with cousins!

We had so much fun last weekend spending time at Erik's parents Tahoe cabin with our cousins! Ford loved watching the big boys and hanging out with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Marie! Erik and I went out to dinner on our first date in 7 months, and we also went snowboarding one of the days while Grandma and Grandpa babysat for us!!! It was so fun to just hang out with each other, and to remember how much fun we have together. We of course talked about Ford most of the time, but it was so fun to reconnect with my best friend!!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for babysitting for us!

We did our best to get a picture of all three boys, but you all know how that goes with a 4 year old, a 2 year old and a 7 month old!!

I love the look on Eli and Jacob's face and the panicked look on Ford's face!!!

Eli and Jacob all bundled up to go sledding!!!

Sweet Jakie was so bundled he had a hard time keeping his balance!!!

Erik and Marie and all their kiddos!!

Three generations of Olson!!!

Momma still has it!!! Erik videoed me snowboarding on my first run post baby!!!

Wherever You Are

Wherever You Are My Love Will Find You by Nancy Tillman is my favorite children's book. My Aunt gave it to Ford for Christmas and I just love it. The words and art work are so sweet, and I get tears in my eyes every time I read it. I pray that Ford will know the kind of love that these words encompass, and as parents we strive everyday to give this kind of love to our sweet little boy.

I wanted you more than you ever will know,
so I sent love to follow wherever you go.
It's high as you wish it. It's quick as and elf.
You'll never outgrow it...it stretches itself!

So climb any mountain...climb up to the sky!
My love will find you. My love can fly!
Make a big splash! Go out on a limb!
My love will find you. My love can swim!

It never gets lost, never fades, never ends...
if you're working...or playing...
or sitting with friends.

You can dance 'til you're dizzy...
paint 'til you're blue...
There's no place, not one, that my love can't find you.

 And if someday you're lonely,
 or someday you're sad,
 or you strikeout at baseball,
 or think you've been bad...
Just lift up your face, feel the wind in your hair.
That's me, my sweet baby, my love is right there.

In the green of the grass...
in the smell of the sea...
in the clouds floating by...
at the top of a tree...
in the sound crickets make at the end of the day...
"You are loved. You are loved. You are loved," they all say.

My love is so high, and so wide and so deep,
it's always right there, even when you're asleep.

So hold your head high and don't be afraid
to march to the front of your own parade.
If you're still my small babe or you're all the way grown,
my  promise to you is you're never alone.

You are my angel, my darling, my star...
and my love will find you, wherever you are.

You are loved.

Yes, sweet Ford you are loved, you are loved, you are loved!!!!

It's official!

It's official Ford's "first word" is Mama!!!! I know he doesn't know what he is saying, but it's still his first word in my eyes!!! I was trying to get him to go down for a nap (we are transitioning out of the swaddle so nap time has been a bit of a challenge), and I heard him on the monitor and grabbed my phone to record it. Now, I realize he is kind of crying and I also realize that he isn't referring to me when he says Mama, but I will take it!!!! I have definitely had the thought....if that kid says Dada first.... so I am thrilled and just love hearing him say it even if he does it while he is fussing!  This video is me recording his video monitor with my iphone so bear with me (you may have to turn the volume up to hear it)! This was on February 21st!!!

Today he was in his swing and I was able to catch him saying Mama on video again. I have to be sneaky because if he knows I am videoing him he won't do it. He has been saying it a lot over the past few days and it is just so sweet!!!!

Another step!

Ford has taken another step towards being a big boy. My heart is so torn about him getting older. On one hand I so look forward to seeing him grow and develop, but on the other hand it pains my heart to know that he will never be this age again! I just recently ordered him a high chair (which I assembled all by myself :), and of course I had to capture this first in a photo!!!

He still looks pretty little though!

The high chair makes feeding him much easier than using the bumbo. There are fewer places for him to escape. He can't arch his back and throw his head backwards or lean all the way forward and try to eat his feet instead!!! Trying to feed a moving target is a challenge!!!

I tried giving him some puffs to help him learn how to feed himself, and of course just like all new foods introduced to him he was not a fan!!!

I also don't think he is ready either seeing as I thought I was going to have to perform the heimlich on him after a gagging choking fit! The puffs are supposed to dissolve and don't require chewing, but they didn't dissolve quite as fast as I thought they would!!!

Tahoe with the Cater's

We spent last weekend in Tahoe with The Cater's. We had such a great time hanging out in their beautiful new home! Tahoe is having an unseasonably warm winter, but that just meant we got to spend more time outside. We took walks, went to Squaw Valley Resort and Erik did a little snowboarding! We had such a fun weekend thanks for having us Bill and Sue!!!!

Hanging out at Squaw Valley Resort with Auntie Sue

A little historical fact: Erik and I met at Squaw Valley almost 7 years ago!!!!

It might not of been great weather for snowboarding, but we loved all the sunshine and warm weather!

First time in the snow!

All bundled up and ready to head outside!

Help Mom I feel over and I have too many clothes on to get up!
