I am 6 months old!!!

Our sweet baby boy is 6 months old! I have said this before but it has gone so fast in some ways, and slow in others. One thing is for sure we are so in love with this little boy. He is such a happy baby always smiling and now giggling! He is very vocal and at times very loud. He has a strong but very sweet personality. We are having so much fun watching him grow, and can't wait to see what he will do next!! Here are some facts about Ford at 6 months.

*He had a major growth spurt from 4 months to 6 months! His pediatrician was quite impressed with him!

*He weighs 17 lbs and 14.5 oz. He gained almost 4 lbs in 2 months and went from 25th to 60th percentile for weight.

*He is 26 and 3/4 inches long. He grew 2 inches and went from 25th to 75th percentile for height.

*His head circumference is 18 inches. His head grew 1 and 1/4 inches and went from 75th to 98th percentile. YES that is correct his head grew almost as much as his body and he is barely still on the growth chart!!!!

*He still sleeps about 11-12 hours every night and takes 3 naps a day.

*He get so excited when he hears us come in his room to get him after his naps and in the morning. He almost always greets us with a smile!

*He loves to giggle, scream and fake cough especially if it gets him attention.

*He still loves to take baths and now plays with his bath tub toys.

*He loves to be outside.

*He still spits up A LOT!

*He started solid foods (and spits those up too) and so far his favorites are pears, bananas, mac-n-cheese and yogurt. I am happy to report he now likes my homemade baby food!

*He can sit up on his own, but still falls over.

*He is very active and always wiggling!

*He can only roll from his stomach to his back and is not trying to crawl just yet.

*He only takes his paci for naps and at night

*He thinks it funny when he burbs....such a boy!

*He doesn't have any teeth yet, but that doesn't stop him from drooling and chewing his fingers.

*His hair is finally coming back, but is much lighter than the hair he was born with.

Here is our sweet boy he justs keeps getting cuter and cuter!!!!

 He has a dimple just on the right just like his Momma!!

A look back!

I thought in honor of Ford's 6 month birthday I would post a look back of all his lambie/Ford chair pictures that I have been taking of him. It's amazing how much he has changed in such a short time. Looking at these pictures makes my heart melt! I have already forgotten how tiny he was. It was such an overwhelming, exhausting, amazing and joyous time in our lives. I can almost remember what I was feeling in each of these pictures. We love you so much sweet boy and can't believe how much you have touched our lives in these short 6 months!!!

The sun was setting and I was playing around with some of the settings on my camera, and shot these pics of my favorite sweet face!!

Winter Beach Day!

We have been getting such beautiful weather this week, so today we packed up a headed to the beach! I always tell Erik I feel like the Griswold's carrying all of our gear to the beach! When it was just Erik, Coop and me we didn't require much to spend some time at the beach!!!

Always a happy boy!!!

From Scratch!

I decided that I wanted to make all of Ford's baby food from scratch instead of giving him jared baby food. So far he liked all of the baby food I had given him, so why not make it with fresh ingredients and a little flavor....pretty ambitious and dedicated I thought!!! I spent the morning at the store getting all the right ingredients, and the afternoon chopping, steaming, baking, boiling and pureeing! I made carrots, peas, apple and pear sauce, and sweet potatoes. I added some cinnamon to the apple and pear sauce and the sweet potatoes for some extra flavor! I even put a little butter in the peas and carrots (I figure he is half Texan so it's about time he got some butter in his diet!). I tasted all of the food and was very satisfied with all my hard work!!!

When Ford woke up from his nap I put together a little sampler for him so he could taste all his yummy food. We were both so excited!!!

I will let you be the judge of whether or not he liked all of his fresh homemade food!!! I don't know that I have ever seen him make some of these faces before!

Well after that scene I went back to the drawing board and added more water to all the food, and pureed it more so it has a smoother texture. He is starting to like it more and more, but lesson learned even the best intentions don't always work out especially when it comes to being a mom!!!

Hanging with Sommer!

Last weekend the Negards came over to watch some football and hang out! Ford and Sommer had a great time.....well basically they just stared at each other for a few minutes and that was about it!!! I know soon they will be great friends!!!
