A trip back to Aptos!

We had a fun trip back to Aptos, but it's always bittersweet. We love seeing our old friends and hanging out at the beach, but it's also sad because we miss living there so much. The Negards were so sweet to host us, and of course the kids had a blast with each other. I did a terrible job taking pictures and only pulled my camera out once at the beach. It was a beautiful day and l love these little girls so much!

Sweet Annike Bear!

Sweet and a little sassy Sommer! I know a little about being sassy, so it only makes me love her even more!

I love the sequence of this hug. They didn't know I was taking their picture!

 Ford wasn't quite finished.....

But Som was!!!

Like a Champ!

We had been talking up potty training for weeks, and while I don't think he totally understood what all that intailed, he was so excited to do potty training. The promised "potty gifts" was were most the anticipation and excitment came from! We did the 3 day potty training which means you leave your kid in underwear for 3 days, you don't leave the house and you ask them every 3 minutes if they need to go pee pee or poo poo! Sounds like a blast, right?? Well it was a long 3 days, but I am happy and proud to say that Ford handled it like a champ! Like most things with him it was pretty easy! We had one accident on the first day and one on the second, and by the third day he got it! We haven't had any accidents since! Good job Ford!!

Check out these muscles!

Small town 4th of July

Fourth of July in small town is so fun. The streets were lined with families all in red white and blue, the parade marches through the square and everyone waves their flags as the mayor passes by in a convertible! It was super hot, but we had a great time celebrating our great country!

Our sweet friends the Frazies. Savanna and Ford go to preschool together!

I am 35 months old! Almost 3!

Somehow someway we fall more in love with this little boy, and boy is he all boy! He loves trucks, ninjas, dirt and anything that involves getting dirty! He loves his preschool and always gets high praises from his teachers for being kind, polite and always happy! Here are some facts about a big boy ( but still and always my baby boy):

*He is so funny and is always trying to get Erik and I to laugh at him!
*He loves to make up words and then give them some random meaning. His favorite made up word right now is "gaygo"!
*He loves looking at tires on cars and trucks. He will tell me to speed up so he can check out tires on a truck driving next to us.
*He recently likes to say that things are "old". Luckily he hasn't told me that I am old. If you ask him who is older Mommy or Daddy, he always says Daddy!
*I love all the words he says wrong like 'gabe' for gave, 'vertible' for convertible, 'chopstick' for chapstick, 'sunking' for something, 'helitotter' for helicopter, 'fu-zee' for excuse me and 'minja' for ninja
*He says words that start with "sc" he says them with a "st". So school is 'stool' and scooter is 'stooter'!
*He is very excited about potty training and changing his crib into a "big boy bed"!
*He loves to go down to the creek behind our house and catch tadpoles, crawdads and frogs with his daddy!

Here is our boy at 35 months (the band aid was just for looks :)
