I am 22 months old!

Aaaaand just like that our sweet boy is another month older! I know I am his mom and a wee bit biased, but this little boy is so incredibly special. He charms everyone he meets and wins their heart over! It makes me such a proud mama to hear others speak so highly of my boy. He has such a sweetness about  him that is always noticed by others. When I see him with other kids it melts my heart to see how sweet and gentle he is. He loves kids (especially older girls....yikes :) and there's always a lot giggles and belly laughs! He is such a joy and brings an unbelievable amount of happiness to Erik and me! Here are some facts about Ford at 22 months:

*He is a HAPPY HAPPY boy! It is so easy to get him to laugh and smile!
*He is so charming and so outgoing! He doesn't know a stranger and loves to smile and say hi to people!
*He is very independent and is great at entertaining himself!
*He is so affectionate and loving especially with me! He loves to kiss me and hug me. He is finally giving closed mouth kisses and he makes a "mmmmmm" noise when he's going for a kiss!
*He is talking a lot and it seems like he learns a new word each day! Most recently it's "A tree", "I try", "again" and "puppy"!
*He loves to watch Cars and loves Lighting McQueen, and his new favorite shirt is pictured below!
*He's always asking where something went by saying "A go mama" or "A go nah (his blankie)"!
*"Nah Nah" and "Ah Ha" his blankie and his little stuffed Curious George are always required!
*He has finally masted jumping, and by mastered he's clearing about 2 inches, and he still calls it "otts"!
*He still has no interest in eating, and I swear if I didn't make him sit in his high chair he wouldn't eat
*I've been teaching him how to sing Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and You Are My Sunshine. It is so cute to hear him try!
*He is wild wild wild!!! He is always running everywhere and climbing and jumping off of stuff!!! Makes me very nervous!

Summer fun!!

We have had amazing weather almost all year, but the past few months have been great!! Ford loves to be outside and loves our new back yard so we have been taking full advantage of the weather and yard! We hooked up an old sprinkler and had so good old fashion back yard fun!!!

Drinking from a hose and old sprinkler is ok, right??

Of course Coop had to get in on the action!

I love this one!

Our neighbors Granddaughter, Cleo, was in town from Portland so we had some fun play dates! She is 2 months older than Ford, and when she left she laid a huge kiss on Ford and he started jumping up and down and yelling with excitement! It was like he had been waiting his whole (22 months) life for  a kiss! It was hilarious, but I am not ready for anymore kisses for my boy!

We bought Ford a T-Ball set and he took right to it!!

Look at that smile!

After using the bat as a horn....

and holding it upside down...

He got the hang of it and made contact!

Such a big boy! Erik and I were so proud of him!!!

Such a handsome boy!!

A VERY unwelcome guest!

We have a gopher snake that keeps showing up on our back porch and almost sending me into full cardiac arrest! I went to get Ford's shoes off the back porch a few days ago and I reached down and he was right there all coiled up! It sends chills up my spine just thinking about it!  Erik has taken it back up into the woods three times now, and it keeps coming back! Ford is very interested and that terrifies me. Here he is saying "Hi ssssssssss"!

Oh I do not like snakes!

Mother's Day Weekend!

I am truly such a lucky Mama that I get to stay home with Ford and be a part of this special little boy's everyday! I am so lucky God picked me to be Ford's mom. He is truly such a joy to be around  and my days are full of smiles and laughs and trucks and tractors and skinned knees and sandy shoes and bugs and poopy diapers and snotty noses wiped on my pants, but I wouldn't have it any other way. For as long as I can remember I wanted a baby of my own I wanted to be a mother. I always knew it would be amazing and I would love my child, but I had no idea of the immense and ever growing love I would have for Ford. God saves this special piece of your heart for your children and at times it feels so full you feel like your heart could explode. It is pure and sweet and the closest thing to unconditional love. Being a Mom and feeling this unbelievable love has given me just a glimmer of the love that God has for us, his children, and that to me is mind blowing! Even though I carried this little human for nine months and felt the crazy pain of labor and delivery, I still look at him and wonder where did you come from? It is just such a supernatural miracle that even as a mom it hard to believe. Erik and I are always saying to each other can you believe how much we love him? The answer is always no because I can't, I can't believe have much a love this little person. I love that Erik and I have this one thing in common, our love for Ford, that never gets old for either one of us. Thank you Ford for letting be your Mama!!!

We had a weekend full of adventures spending time a family! We took a bike ride on Saturday and took Ford down to the river to do a little exploring. He loves to be in the woods walking in creeks, throwing rocks and climbing hills!

He wants to do whatever his Dada is doing. So sweet!

We went to church on Sunday and then had a picnic at the beach! Not the best picture (what happens when I'm not behind the camera :), even so me and my baby boy on Mother's Day!

Ford found a little friend at the beach!
