The Ford's visit Ford!!!

Derek, Shawna and Jill were vacationing in San Francisco and made a special trip down on Saturday to visit and meet Ford! It was a beautiful day and Ford was doing great after his surgery, so we went to lunch and for a walk on the beach!

Ford showed his Uncle Derek how happy he was to finally meet him by spitting up on him!

Ford slept in the Bjorn all through lunch and for the walk on the beach! Such a good boy!

Our prayers were answered!!!

Ford had surgery on Thursday to repair an inguinal hernia. He did great and is recovering so well. So many of you prayed for Ford and we are so grateful to all of you! We felt covered in prayer the whole time. It was by far one of the hardest things I have ever done and we are SO relieved that he is doing well and it's all over! I can't even explain the feeling I felt when they took him away...scared, guilt, helplessness, anxiety, worry.... it was terrible! My faith that God would protect my sweet baby was truly tested. My good friend Ashley Hodges sent me this verse and I just continued to pray and think about it. Thanks Ash!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, submit your requests to the Lord. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4 6:7

We did have a moment of relief while waiting for his surgery! After the nurse took his history, she asked me to get him undressed and handed me the tiniest yellow hospital gown to put on Ford. Erik and I both had to laugh because it even had the ties in the back that expose your bottom! They also gave us those yellow socks to put on him which he repeatedly kicked off! We just had to take a picture! He also loved the giant teddy bear in his hospital bed with him!

Tummy Time!

Ford is getting so big and is getting so good at holding his head up. I am always surprised how much he likes doing "tummy time" because most babies hate it!

He is always so serious when I get the camera out, but he is still so cute in this little outfit!!

We LOVE Uncle Bill and Aunt Sue!!!

Bill and Sue Cater (some of my most favorite people :) brought dinner to us last night! Bill and Sue have always treated Erik and I like one of their own, and now Baby Ford will be just as blessed to have them in his life! The Cater's have a true servant's heart, are incredibly generous and always up for a fun time!!! We just love spending time with them!

Sue has always spoiled me, and now Ford is on the receiving end!!! She picked out the most adorable outfits for him! I can't wait to dress him up!!! Thanks Aunt Sue we love you so much!!!!

Happy Birthday Momma!!!

I had a very relaxing birthday even with a newborn! I got a pedicure this morning, went for a walk on the beach with Erik, Ford and Cooper (all my boys :) and ended the night with a beautiful sunset and a glass of wine! I am a lucky and blessed girl and look forward to the next year!

Happy 4 Year Anniversary!!

Four years ago today I became the luckiest girl in the world! I married my best friend and we have had the most amazing 4 years! I always knew Erik would be a great father, and it just melts my heart to see how much he loves Ford. He is an amazing husband, and I can't even imagine going through all of this without him. I know that one of the greatest gifts we can give Ford is to grow up in a home where his parents love and respect one another. Our lives have definitely changed since that day in Carmel, but we feel so blessed that we are happily married with a healthy baby boy! We spent our last 3 anniversaries in Mexico, Australia and Hawaii, but this year we are spending it a little differently :)

I am 2 months old today!!!

Our sweet little boy is getting big!! He has become such a happy baby in the past few weeks, which makes life around our house much easier. Here are some highlights about him at 2 months!

*He weighs 10 lbs 2 oz (10th percentile) 22 inches (10th percentile).

* He has been in the 10th percentile since he was born, he is little but he'll catch up one day :)

*He is still on a 3 hour schedule during the day eat, play and nap!

*He is sleeping through the night from about 10:30 to about 6:30 (thank you Baby Wise!)

*He loves to lay on his changing table and smile at Erik and I, but mostly he smiles at the wall!

*He loves music!

*He nurses and takes 2 bottles a day

*He is a grunter, but has recently discovered his voice and is making all sorts of new sounds!
